You could probably spend an hour-and-a-half if you did a quick self-guided visit. Combining the tour, lunch, wandering, reading displays, taking photos and visiting the gift shop, we spent approx 4 hours at the gardens. We came for a birthday and dined at the restaurant which was excellent. It's not the largest garden and it's not going to be the first thing you'll visit if you're a tourist, but it's a lovely day trip for locals in the Southern California region. If you look on their website, the garden offers so much more including classes, events, garden parties, festivals, summer camps, art displays, weddings, lectures, plant shows and programs for kids.
